The Vanguard School is designed for students grades 6-12, who are experiencing academic difficulties due to a variety of learning differences. Our students have average to above average IQ levels, and experience learning challenges such as: ADD, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, Anxiety Disorders, and high-functioning autism. Students who attend The Vanguard School have not been diagnosed with a behavioral disorder, and we are not a therapeutic school; though counseling is available on campus.
Our unique student care is achieved through differentiated instruction, targeted interventions, small classes, highly qualified teachers, and innovative technology. Our passionate faculty present learning materials using creative and research-based methods. We understand that every student possesses the potential to achieve greatness, and it is our job to help them realize their individual strengths.
Campus tours provide the perfect opportunity for prospective students and their families to observe classes, meet faculty and dormitory staff and most importantly, other students. The admissions office coordinates interview/evaluations and campus tours throughout the school year. For families who must travel some distance, the campus tour and required interview may be combined in one visit (please see Application section). For the security of our students and staff, visits are by appointment only, and must be made in advance. Visits may be scheduled Monday through Friday. We hope to see you soon!
