Securities or Stock Transfers

You may realize substantial tax savings by transferring appreciated stocks to Vanguard prior to their sale. Capital gains on the amount of the appreciation are avoided and you receive a tax deduction for the full market value. The Vanguard School can be a total or partial beneficiary of an existing whole life insurance policy, or a new policy may be taken out for this purpose.
