Admissions
Thank you for considering attending Vanguard. What Vanguard is really all about is getting you caught up in school by focusing on your unique needs. Everyone’s different, and we take the time to find out about you, how you want to learn, and where you need the most help. We’re here to get you ready to tackle any educational challenge in your way.
At Vanguard, of course we’re about learning, but we’re about a lot more than that! We are a fun place to be, and our students love it here.
First, there’s the warm weather we enjoy year-round here in sunny Florida. Then there’s our very cool campus packed with things to do – and something for everyone’s interests. Sports, nature, socializing, games, clubs, music, theatre and the arts keep our students active and happy.
We have our very own pond where we have all kinds of fun hanging out and enjoying nature. We play beach volleyball games, go fishing and canoeing, or we play paintball on the course that our students designed and built.
For you sports fans, we have both a strong athletic program, where we enter into rigorous competition with area schools, and an intramural program for those who want a less competitive option. We also try as often as possible to hop a bus and catch sporting events like a Lightning pro hockey game or a Magic basketball game.
Speaking of field trips... We’re about a half hour from LegoLand, and an hour’s drive from Walt Disney World and Sea World. Nearby Orlando and Tampa Bay are hot spots for several activities including plays, concerts, ballgames and amusement parks.
School vehicles take students into downtown Lake Wales or Winter Haven for shopping trips, movies, having dinner or any other social activities you and your friends may want to do. If you're 17, you can apply to have your own car on campus!
From arts, crafts and cooking, to a fitness center and SCUBA lessons, there’s something to do for everyone, all the time!
