About Our Applicants

About Our ApplicantsThe Vanguard School program is designed for students ages 10 through high school who are experiencing academic difficulties due to learning challenges such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, Asperger's Syndrome, or an attention deficit. Thirteenth Year students must have a valid high school diploma or certificate. The typical Vanguard student has an average IQ level, but is not experiencing success in his or her school setting due to a learning disability or attention deficit. Our students have not been diagnosed with a behavioral disorder and we do not offer a therapeutic component, though counseling is available on campus.

Campus Visits
Campus tours provide the perfect opportunity for prospective students and their families to observe classes, meet faculty and dormitory staff and most importantly, other students. The admissions office coordinates interview/evaluations and campus tours throughout the school year. For families who must travel some distance, the campus tour and required interview may be combined in one visit (please see Application Process section). Appointments should be made in advance and may be scheduled Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
