Middle and Upper School Instructors

The Vanguard School of Lake Wales is currently seeking dynamic and innovative instructors to join our middle and upper school teams for the fall. Ideally, eligible candidates will possess:

  • Experience in teaching (6-12 grade).
  • Demonstrate familiarity with remediation strategies for struggling learners.
  • Enjoy small class sizes.

Our most successful teachers are those who are committed to their own learning and are willing to go above and beyond to educate the whole student. Certification and technology experience preferred.

Admissions Associate

Reporting to the Director of Admissions, the Admissions Associate has a key role on the Admissions Team and is responsible for supporting all areas of enrollment management. These areas include, but are not limited to: admissions, recruitment, communication, marketing, and clerical duties. The Admissions Associate must be organized, have great attention to detail, be energetic and success-oriented, and have strong time management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must. The Admissions Associate must be a team player as well as be able to work independently, take initiative to learn new things and be a valued part of the Vanguard Team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·Effectively explain and communication to prospective families the mission of The Vanguard School and the many opportunities a Vanguard Education offers

·Answer incoming emails and phone calls in a professional and prompt manner

·Develop and cultivate relationships with prospective students and families throughout the admissions process

·Guide and support families during the admissions process and beyond when needed

·Give tours of the campus and conduct admission interviews with candidates and their families (including interviews via Skype/FaceTime)

·Advise families on how to apply for financial assistance including state funded programs such as McKay and Step-Up for Students

·Track inventory of general Admissions supplies including promotional materials and giveaways

·Scan and upload admissions files upon completion

·Prepare and organize admissions materials for events, inquiries, and school fairs

·Possible occasional overnight travel for conferences and school fairs

·Organize on campus special events including set up and tear down

·Log information in computer systems such as RenWeb, Excel Spreadsheets, and Google Drive Programs

·Must be able to work with a diverse population of staff and students

·Able to work under tight deadlines and during times of high stress

·Some evenings and weekends are required for this position – candidate must be flexible

·All other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions or Head of School

Job Type:

·Bachelor's Degree

·Intermediate or Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

·Experience with Google Drive

·Ability to handle and maintain confidential information


·Experience in a Boarding School Admissions Office Strongly Preferred

·Experience with LD Students in an Educational Setting Preferred

·Graphic Design Skills a Plus

·Bilingual (Spanish/English)
